Something Gorgeous You Shouldn’t Miss
November 16th, 2009 categories: Buyer Resource, Pics
I had the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of living in the Wine Country this weekend. I love driving through the windy roads in the country and enjoying the wonderful colors that the fall season has to bring. As you make your trek through the wine roads to do some tasting next time you are in the Sonoma County area be sure to pull over and admire the lush beauty that you are surrounded by. You can’t even capture it’s full beauty in pictures but it’s a nice taste of what the Sonoma County Wine Country is about. Enjoy!

Home On The Moon?
October 13th, 2009 categories: Pics
On a recent trip in my time machine, I travelled into the future. Why you ask? To spend a weekend at my moon home…my lunar landing of course…just to get away from it all. As I was about to take off with my friends Emmett Brown and Marty McFly, I snapped this quick picture. It is located just down the street from George and Jane Jetson’s home.
Home On The Moon? Really? No…not really. This is a beach house. I am not sure who owns it…no idea if it is an eccentric, or someone who has a “Green” agenda, or maybe it is someone who wants a cost effective beach house.
Sonoma County has plenty of unusual and unique homes. When I see interesting Real Estate, I do tend to take pictures of it. This one was so unique, I decided to share it.
Please share any interesting Real Estate pictures or stories with us…we love the subject.

Sonoma County Grapes ?
September 8th, 2009 categories: Pics
Are these really tiny Sonoma County Grapes? Of course not!
I am not exactly sure what this plant is, but I did like the vibrant purple color.
When I am on nature walks and find something interesting I usually take a picture. I will continue to share the interesting ones with our readers.

Santa Rosa Rockabilly Day Fun!
August 17th, 2009 categories: Entertainment, Pics, Santa Rosa
This was a lot of fun…It was a great turn out for the Santa Rosa Rockabilly Day at Juilliard Park. This was a FREE event put together by the City of Santa Rosa that featured local rock band artists like Buckshot Boys, Petaluma Beats and Dave Crimmen.
My favorite songs were the Elvis covers.
For more information on local upcoming events in Santa Rosa Ca be sure to check out the City of Santa Rosa Website.

Sonoma County Hidden Beauty
August 9th, 2009 categories: Pics
Even in the least suspected places, there is beauty everywhere in Sonoma County. Even in this picture of a thistle bloom, which is actually a weed, I see beauty.
Maybe it is all in how you look at something rather than what you are really looking at.
The next article will be about Real Estate I promise!

Beautiful Petaluma Architecture – St. Vincent De Paul Church
July 29th, 2009 categories: Petaluma, Pics
I took a picture of this church in Petaluma and I just liked the way the twin spires contrasted against the blue sky. It is like a little bit of Italy right here in Sonoma County!
This is the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church for those keeping score. The church was constructed in 1926, and has been a Petaluma landmark ever since. Located at 35 Liberty street…You can’t miss it if you are in the area…just look up!
Mass is held at the following times:
- Monday – Saturday at 8:00 AM
- Saturdays at 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM
- Sundays 7:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM
- Sunday 12:00 PM is a mass given in Spanish
- Holiday Masses are held at various times…please call 707.762.4278 to find out.
Confession is held on Saturday at 4:00 PM and by appointment.
This message is in no means trying to present any religious messages…we simply like the architecture and the white building against the blue Petaluma sky.

Rohnert Park Sign – The Friendly City
July 19th, 2009 categories: Pics, Rohnert Park
The Rohnert Park sign that is visible from 101 (Redwood Highway) is clear in its statement that Rohnert Park is “The Friendly City.” This is evident in the people that live in Rohnert Park…for the most part all great people.
The question I have is why is the Rohnert Park city sign in such bad shape?
Even when I drive by the Rohnert Park sign on Commerce, I can tell it is in bad shape. The other day we were taking a walk along the sidewalk along Commerce, and when we got up close to the sign itself, it was in much worse shape than I ever noticed. There are dents in the main column that hides the support beams, some holes in the sign itself, and the paint is circa 1980 I am guessing. The colors of the sign are also not welcoming, a brown and yellow combination that make me think of shag carpet while Disco Inferno keeps resonating in my head. This is not the welcome that the Rohnert Park City Council wants to give outsiders is it?
I am not that politically active, however the President Obama’s call for volunteerism was great, and I hope people take to it. I thought I might volunteer to paint this sign, so I made a call to the City of Rohnert Park. I am not sure I spoke to the correct person, but I offered my less than expert services, and was told no for various reasons…liability, lack of painting as a proven skillset (even though I have some moderate experience here), and liability again.
When I was told that my volunteer services would not be needed, I was not so much disappointed as I was surprised. Who turns down free help? Apparently the City of Rohnert Park does…at least in this instance.
Anyway…each time I drive by this sign I am shocked at how the condition of the sign seems to get worse and worse by the day. It is overgrown and in such bad condition, I am surprised there is not a city crew that could spend a couple of hours bringing it back to life. I would like to think the nameplate of a city such as Rohnert Park would stand for something and should be kept in good working condition.
Just my thoughts…I hope I am not alone in this.
Wake Up Rohnert Park City Council…if you are not going to pay to have work done, then have enough foresight NOT to turn down volunteer labor!

Sonoma County Water Tower
July 13th, 2009 categories: Pics
I am pretty sure this water tower is NOT the source of Sonoma County’s water, but at one time I am sure it helped a farm survive through periods of low rain. This one appears to have long been abandoned, and the fields around it aren’t producing much these days.
I cannot even guess what was at one time planted in the fields. I assume either hay or mustard, as that is all that is around there now, but who knows.
Was this water tower the source of life for a thriving Sonoma County winery? Doubtful?
Was it a crop like soy beans or alfalfa? Who knows…but I think those two crops are too water intensive for Sonoma County.
Anyway, I just liked the white tower against the blue sky and stopped alongside Petaluma Hill Road to take this picture.
I always liked the old barns, water towers and farm equipment that lay dormant in the fields.

CANDY SHOP
July 6th, 2009 categories: Pics
Nothing to do with Sonoma County Real Estate today…just a picture of a wall of Jelly Belly jellybeans in a CANDY SHOP.

I suppose this is every kid’s dream…well most kids…probably not the dream of a dentist’s kid…well maybe…Willy Wonka was the son of a dentist… Dr. Wilbur Wonka DDS.
I think the lion is guarding all of the jellybeans. I have no idea how they got him to sit so still???
